Founded in 2019 by Meghna Sihag and Krisztian Szabo, Szabo Sihag operates between India and London. Rooted in lived experience with traditional Indian textiles, the brand reinterprets heritage through hand-spun khadi, odhaniya and upcycled materials, embedding endangered craft practices into contemporary womenswear designed for everyday life.

Designing our Spring/Summer 2022 collection, inspired by my mother’s wedding, transformed my practice. It shifted my work from creating garments to preserving memory, intimacy and lived experience through craft.

I want the work to evoke familiarity — a quiet recognition that feels personal yet shared, connecting memory with the present so the wearer feels grounded and seen.
Red recurs across collections as a marker of memory and continuity. Handwoven khadi cotton and wool form nearly half of each collection. Odhaniya are reworked as core materials, allowing cultural textiles to evolve into garments relevant beyond nostalgia.
